Leadership

While this project is about leadership it goes way beyond that. I will look over all the leadership roles that I have been in my whole highschool life and also outside of school as well. I am getting input from outside observers on my leadership skills so I can identify my strengths and weaknesses. This event will help me with my confidence because it is giving me a chance to see my weaknesses and to help improve them. I have already seen improvements in my own leadership and I hope to see more improvement as I take in the lessons that I learn from this event and from those who are helping by giving their feedback. The things that I take from this event are things that I want to take with me throughout my future.

Career Investigation

This project is about researching photography how to become a photographer in the career investigating star event. The presentation is about how someone can be a photographer or listen to the story of how I learned to become a photographer and how others became a photographer.

Chapter in Review Portfolio

Our project is designed to keep track of anything and everything that our FCCLA chapter does this year. Whether that's fundraising, community service, or holding chapter meetings. This event helps us increase our range and inform more people about FCCLA and what we do while also giving our current members recognition for all that they do. Essentially we keep a record of our activities, budget, and membership and present it in a slideshow.

Community Service Portfolio

Our chapter service project portfolio is about raising money for our very own TYSA program. We are demonstrating teamwork, learning responsibility, and practicing our time management skills within this project. Our plan was to "Light Up Tioga" by bringing the town together to decorate their own personalized trees. The money we raise from this event is going towards funding 3 admission fees into youth baseball/softball 2025. We want to assist low-income families that have children who want to play sports.

Community Service Display

We are making bears that are stuffed with rice for little kids in Pre-K 4. We are making them as comfort objects because these littles are just now having to be away from their parents for long amounts of time. Some may not be taking this very well. We are giving them out around Christmas time so that they are almost like gifts.

Focus on Children

Our project is focusing on Kindergartners being able to control their emotions when they are feeling them in a strong manner. We went over to our local elementary school and read "The Emotion Monster," we also made them a worksheet where they colored what emotion they felt that day and why they felt that way. We also made the monster they colored with the expressions they added to see if having a stuffed monster makes them feel comforted kinda like a support system. Our goal is for the kids to make sure children are more aware of their emotions.

Entrepreneurship

We are competing in Entrepreneurship and we are creating new clothes from old clothes. We are making unique clothes that will help promote saving the environment by donating their clothes to be recycled into something new. For our project we have to do the creative side and the business side for this STAR Event.

Promote & Publicize

We are doing the promote and publicize FCCLA. we put together a facebook page to show off all of our acheivements that has happened throughout our FCCLA chapter. Another couple things that we did was we put up flyers promoting FCCLA and the FCCLA memebership week. We are trying to teach the students/community about FCCLA and how it can impact you in the long run teaching you valuable lifeskills along the way.

Repourpose & Redesign

Our Star project is re-purpose and redesign. Our concept is that we will be making jewelry using old jeans, shirts, and scrap metal. In return a portion of our profits will go to cleaning out junkyards.

Repurpose & Redesign 2

Repurpose and redesign includes turning an item/s into a new product that can be useful. Our event is about repurposing soda cans and the box that they come in by redesigning them into hats. This impacts the environment by limiting the amount of waste that is being put into landfills and the ocean, and instead of doing that we will be making hats out of these items.

Interpersonal communication

One of our largest communication issues in our school is between teachers and students when it comes to advisory. It comes to different communication to create a simpiler and more effective system so that the students can have a productive advisory period!

Food Innovations

For Food Innovations, our team created an original line of superfoods beverages. We created packaging, a marketing plan all while making a refreshing drink!

Professional Presentation

My group's Professional Presentation project is about the concern about Internet Safety among adolescents and teens. So far we have done research regarding the top dangers on the Internet. With the research, we have created information pages about each topic which includes several dangers and things to look out for as well. We have also interviewed an Officer from The Colony PD, and plan to interview a retired Assistant District Attorney from Grayson County. So far we have done one demo presentation to a group of teens about being safe on social media, and a questionnaire game for that same group. Hopefully, our project will speak to our target audience and potentially save young lives from those dangers.

Sustainability Challenge

The Sustainability Challenge is a project where we try to make an impact on the environment and our community by reducing the overconsumption of products. We chose to do our project on the problem of "fast fashion" and how it can negatively impact our environment. We partnered with TheClothesBin to turn old clothing into new products by recycling unwanted clothing items.
